Therapy dog

Cimbi is such a gentle soul, he could be an excellent therapy dog for rescued dogs. He understands the signals perfectly and communicates vey well with other dpgs, he is not pushy, he loves to play but ffor the smallest sign of fear or refusal, he draws back and goes away. There are already quite a few dogs which learnt walking without the lead in the park with the help of Cimbi,
yesterday evening we visited our newest rescued dobe at the vet clinic, a very nice female which was used as a puppy machine. She was a bit frightened because Cimbi was new to her and well, he is a giant dog.
I think that he could be an excellent therapy dog for humans as well but we do not have the time for the training this requires or for visiting places with people who could benefit. He is gently with kids, too, and if the parents do nto get hysterical, he usually smells the kids ad gives a kiss.
One of my very first memories is from a fair, I must have been about 2-3 years old, a toddler, my father and my uncle wanted to visit and Mom asked them to take me along, she had more time for the household chores, I guess. Anyway, probably I got lost in the crowd, this I don't know,  all I remember is that I saw some giant dogs (St Bernards as I realized many many years later) in a kennel, I somehow managed to open the gate and walked in and was very happy sittign among the huge dogs and playing woth them. I heard the screams and I saw that there were crowds outside and I wondered what has happened... Then I was abruptly taken away from my new friends... Kids who can grow up with a pet, especially with a gentle giant, are exteremely lucky.
