Thunderstorms

Cimbi is afraid of loud noises, like firework or thunders. We have had thunderstorms every day recently and he panics, cannot settle down, he is panting and walking and wants to climb in the wardrobe. We are calm and don't pay attention to his panic in order not to confirm in him the feeling that something is wrong. Yesterday he started to panic well before the storm arrived (ok, it was a strong storm with ice and lots of lightning), he went to the open door and smelled in the air and rushed back in the house and tried to hide. I plan to buy SOS Animal bonbons for him I hope they will help.

I read that this is a common behavioural problem in dogs, and it is stronger in case of dogs which have separation anxiety. Well, Cimbi is like my shadow, he follows me wherever I go in the house or in the garden, actually he does not even go into the garden if I am inside. He accepted that Attila leaves every morning and returns in the evening but as I work at home, we spend 24 hours a day together. I usually have loads of work but it does not bother him, he sleeps (together with Taira)or plays or chews some chewing bone by my side in the study.
